After what became a new stories, our local bakery in Lufkin, Texas, reopens tomorrow. They have worked hard to meet the demand that their products will see starting tomorrow (8/6/21) when they open. They made some cute rainbow bows for sale, as well as cookies.
Their hours are Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can guarantee that there will be a line in front again for a while. Just 4 days ago, this local favorite was pulled out of obscurity by a single Facebook post.
Confections lost followers on Facebook due to a rainbow heart-shaped cookie they featured on their page. They also had one (5) dozen orders canceled because of their support for the LGBTQA + community.
A photo of the rainbow heart cookies wishing everyone happy pride started it all. Let them know they were welcome, as well as anyone who loves cookies. It didn’t take long for things to get out of hand.
I have seen stories from all over the web. Just search Google for “confections” and stories from all over the country… even before the definition. This is a “turn” situation in a manual. Although Confections is a very small bakery, it has a huge impact in our community.
They get a lot of questions from people outside of our Deep East Texas area who want to support them, so I thought I would provide the answers. They do not currently send any cookies, but this is likely to change very soon. They have an instagram page, if you are interested, search for sugarcookieart.
I have followed these very creative business owners and featured them on the show and on our stations website for years. Take a look at some of our past stories. These guys aren’t just flash in the pan.
