Disney adds ‘Encanto’ to parks amid massive customer demand

It’s been a long time since a Disney movie took the world by storm the way Encanto (2021) did.

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ beloved film about The Madrigals, a magical family in Colombia, saw its popular hit “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” top the charts for several weeks, becoming more popular than “Let It Go” of Frozen (2013) and became Disney’s first song since “A Whole New World” in Aladdin (1992) topped the charts.

With the film’s absolute fanfare, it’s no surprise that Disney fans at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort will be hoping to see more of the franchise in the future.

Many Disney fans, including the voice of Olaf, Josh Gad, begged Walt Disney World Resort to add an attraction to the Disney Parks. Many have said that Disney should add a Colombia section in the World Showcase to EPCOT. In this new country addition, Encanto could be strongly presented.

While Disney hasn’t confirmed any plans for an attraction yet, it looks like they’re looking at ways to bring the popular film into Disney parks.

A new Encanto-an inspired garden was unveiled as part of the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival. The garden will allow you to explore lush tropical vegetation garden inspired by the film (streaming on Disney+) and its strong female characters like Julieta, Isabela, Luisa and of course Mirabel. You can also walk along a path inspired by the youngest member of the Madrigal family, Antonio.

The garden, which debuted last week, will be available until May 22, 2022 and is located near La Isla Fresca Outdoor Kitchen between the Morocco and France pavilions in World Showcase. This year, La Isla Fresca is offering three arepas dishes: arepa topped with a fresco of melted queso; arepa topped with shrimp, smashed avocado ají and tomato sauce; and an arepa topped with chorizo. Delicious !

This is just one of the recent additions based on Encanto which can be enjoyed at Walt Disney World Resort. As part of Celebrate HER Story in honor of Women’s History Month, you can also enjoy delicious specialties and treats inspired by the women in the film at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.

Although it is not a Encanto ride, it’s certainly a start in what could be the first step in a more complex presentation of the film at EPCOT – or another Disney park – in the future.
