Goodwill organizes an LBD event

All Goodwill retail stores will be holding LBD (Little Black Dress) events starting at 10 a.m. Friday before the holiday season. The Escondido store at 315 W. Washington Ave. will be the main location, with the largest selection of LBDs, shoes and accessories. The San Diego Arc obtains accreditation

The Arc of San Diego nonprofit, which serves people with disabilities, recently received a three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, valid until May 31, 2024. Apprentice software program available

The San Diego Workforce Partnership and Creating Coding Careers offer a 12-week pre-apprenticeship program aimed at breaking down financial barriers to software engineering careers. Building coding careers is designed to address skill shortages in technology industries. By providing access through a Workforce Partnership revenue sharing agreement, the program provides skills and education for career advancement to workers who struggle to pay education fees up front. Apprenticeship participants will sign a $ 8,000 revenue sharing agreement to cover the cost of the training and begin repaying the fund after getting a job that earns more than $ 50,000 per year. After completing the 12-week apprenticeship program, graduates will receive a stipend of $ 2,100 before joining the 12-month paid apprenticeship of Building Careers in Coding. Sprouts provides grants to nonprofits in the region

The Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation recently awarded $ 3 million to 115 nonprofits focused on improving school garden learning and nutrition education. A resident appointed to the Board of Directors of Mission Fed

Malliga Tholandi, an experienced educator and administrator, has been appointed to the volunteer board of Mission Fed Credit Union. A resident of Rancho Bernardo, Tholandi has spent the past six years as a member of the credit union supervisory committee, including two years as chairman. Prior to retiring in June 2016, she worked for over 30 years in school commerce, including five years as the Assistant Superintendent of Business for the Poway Unified School District, where she was also the District Financial Director. Tholandi also worked in four other schools. districts and the San Diego County Office of Education as the head of the financial accounting department. She is a member of the Southern California School Business Executives and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
